Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy brings in record cash ahead of 2026 election cycle

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Ahead of the official start of the 2026 election cycle beginning in the new year, Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy is bringing in record funds.

In the third quarter of this year, Cassidy has raised nearly $1.5 million across his re-election, leadership and joint fundraising committees. It is the last full quarter before the new election cycle starts in earnest. His team says this is the most cash on hand for any incumbent Louisiana senator at the start of this cycle in history.

“I have been working hard to represent Louisiana’s interests and make flood insurance affordable, secure the southern border, and address other issues important to our state,” said Cassidy in a statement. “I thank those who recognize this effort and are supporting my campaign financially.”

He will close the quarter with $5.8 million cash and $1 million in the SuperPAC. While the official announcement for his re-election campaign for his senate seat has not been released, Cassidy has mentioned publicly multiple times he fully intends to run for his seat in the Senate in 2026.

Cassidy was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014 and won re-election in 2020.
